Senior Eks Platform Engineer Workload Safety

Strengthen Affirm’s Amazon EKS platform remotely from Canada through workload isolation, cluster scaling, and Kubernetes operational excellence. Help protect critical paths such as checkout.This senior platform engineering role sets standards for services, batch jobs, and ML workloads across more than 85 EKS clusters. You will determine safe cluster limits, analyze resource profiles, and develop control plane scaling patterns. You will also turn recurring runtime failures into systemic fixes.Key Responsibilities:
Isolate workloads by criticality and resource profileDetermine safe operating limits for each clusterDevelop control plane scaling patterns for bursty workloadsAnalyze CPU, memory, disk, and network resource profilesParticipate in on-call for Kubernetes runtime issuesRequirements:
Five-plus years running Kubernetes in production at scaleExperience with Amazon EKS across many clustersStrong understanding of pod lifecycle and disruption managementProduction debugging skills and systemic incident-fixing abilityExperience quantifying availability, latency, and cost impactsBring EKS platform engineering, Kubernetes scheduling, and resource analysis skills to improve workload safety across Affirm’s Canadian fleet.
