About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and influential Principal Transportation Engineer to lead their transportation planning and design division in Kimberley. This senior position involves overseeing the development and execution of strategic transportation projects, including road network planning, traffic engineering, and public transport infrastructure. You will be responsible for mentoring a team of engineers, managing key client relationships, and driving technical excellence across all projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of transportation engineering principles, a proven track record of leadership, and a deep understanding of the specific transportation challenges and opportunities within the Northern Cape province, contributing to regional development.Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and implementation of complex transportation infrastructure projects.Develop transportation models and conduct traffic impact assessments for new developments.Oversee the design of road geometry, intersection design, and traffic management systems.Manage project teams, budgets, and client expectations, ensuring successful project delivery.Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.Contribute to business development and proposal preparation efforts for new projects.Requirements
Master's degree in Transportation Engineering or a related field.Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng is essential.A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, with significant leadership responsibility.Expertise in traffic analysis software (e.G., VISSIM, SIDRA) and transport modeling platforms.In-depth understanding of road design standards and traffic engineering principles.Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.Benefits
