Fintech Java Software Manager Role

Step into leadership as a Manager of Software Engineering at a growing fintech firm in North Toronto. Drive development team efforts toward modernizing Java applications in a hybrid setting.
In this pivotal position, you will lead the charge to transform commercial software by migrating from legacy Java to a cloud-based architecture utilizing Java v21 and advanced AWS services. Your strong hands-on experience in Java, along with leadership skills, will enable you to effectively mentor the development team and guide architecture decisions, ensuring quality and efficiency without frequent coding tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct the transformation of legacy software to modern architectures
• Spearhead architecture design for applications and infrastructure
• Mentor Agile development teams in best practices
• Conduct quality reviews and provide technical coaching to developers
• Manage deployment of APIs and microservices on AWS
Requirements:
• Significant history in software engineering leadership
• Expertise in Java, Springboot, and Linux
• Solid background in managing cloud-based dev environments
• Outstanding communication abilities
• Ability to commute to Markham office four days a week
