The

• You will draft and negotiate licence, research and development, collaboration, co-development and technology transfer agreements, as well as other technology and intellectual property agreements;
• You will advise business clients on strategies to use, protect, enhance and commercialize intellectual property assets;
• You will conduct intellectual property audits;
• You will provide transactional support and assist with intellectual property and technology due diligence in connection with corporate and commercial transactions, financings, mergers and acquisitions;
• You will act as a strategic advisor to clients and, depending on your experience, contribute to the protection and management of their intellectual property assets;
• You will contribute to client development and to the profile of this strategic practice.

Job Description

The Intellectual Property Group is seeking a lawyer to join its technology transactions and intellectual property practice . You will work closely with the mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial, financing and other practice groups across the firm. More specifically:

• You will draft and negotiate licence, research and development, collaboration, co-development and technology transfer agreements, as well as other technology and intellectual property agreements;
• You will advise business clients on strategies to use, protect, enhance and commercialize intellectual property assets;
• You will conduct intellectual property audits;
• You will provide transactional support and assist with intellectual property and technology due diligence in connection with corporate and commercial transactions, financings, mergers and acquisitions;
• You will act as a strategic advisor to clients and, depending on your experience, contribute to the protection and management of their intellectual property assets;
• You will contribute to client development and to the profile of this strategic practice.

About You

• You hold a bachelor's degree in civil law and are a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec;
• You have three to six years of relevant experience in technology transactions and intellectual property;
• You have strong experience drafting and negotiating complex technology and intellectual property agreements;
• You are able to act as a strategic advisor to business clients;
• You have excellent spoken and written French and English skills;
• You demonstrate autonomy, sound judgment, initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset;
• You have business acumen, a client-focused approach and an interest in client development;
• You have the potential and interest to take on a leadership role and contribute to the long-term succession of the practice.
