Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, installation, and supervision while supervising an Incarcerated Person (IP) work crew on repairs to all commercial kitchen equipment, electrical distribution panels, and related electrical equipment.
• Provide service, maintenance, training, and installations with an IP work crew to the facility Fire alarm systems.
• Provide training and documentation for assigned IP work crew on proper safety practices and installation procedures of repairs, preventive maintenance, and projects.
• Maintain security of all tools, equipment and supplies so that the security of the facility is not compromised.

Minimum Qualifications

• MUST be registered with the Department of Labor and Industry as a Class A Journey or Master Electrician.
• AND MUST have one of the following:
  • A vocational/technical degree in Electronics that includes courses in Electronic Control Theory and Electronic Control Applications.
  • Electronics experience with primary responsibility for the installation, operation, programming, and maintenance of commercial security, environmental and fire alarm control systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Electronics experience with primary responsibility for the installation, operation, programming, and maintenance of commercial security, environmental and fire alarm control systems.
• Experience working in a correctional or secured environment.

Physical Requirements

The completion of pre‑placement physical components may be required prior to hire, including a physical examination, a drug test, and/or tuberculosis screening. The selected finalist is required to review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position.

Additional Requirements

• Background screening that may include criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations, and other applicable information in accordance with Department of Corrections policy.
• Reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, and review of job performance and discipline records.
• New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
