Live-In Caregiver for Senior with Dementia We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced live-in caregiver to provide full-time support for one family member who is a 94 years old woman living with dementia in a private home. This role is well suited to someone who is patient, attentive, and comfortable providing hands-on personal care, medication support, and meaningful companionship, while respecting the dignity, comfort, and routines of an elderly individual. This is providing care to an elderly woman. We offer a comfortable, non-rushed, relaxed work/live environment. Care is for only one person. The ideal candidate has experience caring for seniors, preferably in a live-in setting, and understands the importance of routine, reassurance, safety, and calm support throughout the day. Compensation Negotiable and competitive wages based on experience, with live-in accommodation provided. Hours of Work Approximately 7.0 hours per day of active care, structured around morning routines, meals, daytime activities, and bedtime. Flexible scheduling within the daily routine is required. Overnight Presence This is a full time, live-in position in the employer’s private home. Key Responsibilities Assist with morning and bedtime routines, including washing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Provide shower assistance at least three times weekly, and more often if required. Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, continence care, and toileting. Ensure prescribed medications are taken, including insulin injections, as directed. Monitor overall health, hydration, comfort, and well-being. Prepare and assist with nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day. Encourage safe mobility, light exercise, and fall prevention. Accompany the client to medical, physiotherapy, and social appointments. Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and help maintain a clean and safe living environment. Assist with grocery shopping and household supplies. Provide companionship, conversation, reassurance, and emotional support to enhance quality of life. Requirements Previous experience caring for seniors with dementia, preferably in a live-in role. Health Care Aide or care giving training/certification is an asset. Experience administering medications and insulin is an asset. Strong English communication skills. Patience, empathy, attentiveness, and reliability. Ability to commit to a live-in arrangement in the employer’s home. A valid driver’s license is an asset.
