Sr. Manager, Accounting Reconciliation Controllership (Toronto)

About the Role The Accounting Controllership team is responsible for the integrity of the financial and management information used for accounting, reporting, and business analysis. The Senior Manager leads the Reconciliations team, overseeing the design and implementation of control frameworks and procedures, standardization, streamlining, and automation of reconciliations. The role supports on‑shore and off‑shore teams in investigating complex reconciliation issues for Personal and Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and other functional groups, and provides oversight and quality assurance of suspense account activities.
Responsibilities Financial Accuracy – reviews financial reconciliations, follows up on reconciling items, investigates, analyzes, assesses, documents impacts, and develops recommendations, approaches, and solutions.
Controls & Compliance – ensures finance‑owned controls are performed regularly to identify and manage risk exposure, escalates issues such as aged suspense accounts or unusual items, and proactively monitors and reduces operational risk as part of the reconciliation process risk assessment.
Relationship Building – collaborates with Accounting Controllership teams, CFO teams, and other business partners to meet client needs on a timely basis and continuously adds value.
Leadership – leads, coaches, and motivates the on‑shore and off‑shore team to deliver high impact results, raise expectations, and meet service levels to business partners and clients.
Qualifications 5+ years of applied Accounting and Finance experience within a large organization.
Asset: experience with reconciliation tools such as BlackLine and SAP.
Owner mindset – empowered to take the lead, go above and beyond, and deliver results.
Strong analytical and communication skills to investigate complex problems and communicate detailed information effectively.
