Shipping and Receiving Material Handler

Job Responsibility:
Overview:We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for managing inventory, handling shipments, and ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. This is a vital role in our organization, as you will contribute to the overall success of our operations.
Duties:- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to track and manage inventory levels- Operate warehouse management system to accurately record and update inventory data- Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or invoices- Load and unload materials from trucks or containers using forklifts or other equipment- Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing materials to ensure they meet specifications- Prepare materials for shipment by packaging, labeling, and securing them properly- Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders and ensure timely order fulfillment- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
Requirements:- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role preferred- Proficient in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment- Basic math skills for accurate inventory management- Familiarity with order fulfillment processes and shipping/receiving procedures- Knowledge of AS400 or other inventory management systems is a plus- Experience with e-commerce platforms is beneficial- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
