IT Support Specialist

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for end-users to provide them with technical support, resolving hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring a seamless experience across the organization

In this position, these are the things you will be responsible for:

• Respond to incoming IT support tickets in a timely, professional manner.

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and operating system issues.

• Ensure timely recording, tracking, escalation and resolution of end-user technical problems and requirements received, using the IT ticketing system (JIRA).

• Provision, configure, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within Active Directory and Google suite.

• Develop reference and training materials and provide new hires IT systems set up and training.

• Perform general administrative/office maintenance duties for the IT department, as needed.

• Escalate complex technical issues to the IT Manager.

• Handle scheduled software upgrades and patches with the IT Manager.

• Collaborate with other internal teams to ensure all aspects of on-going IT projects and support requests are met.

• Stay abreast of current and future technological developments or trends.

To be an effective team member, you will have/be:

• College diploma in computer science, IT, or an acceptable combination of education and related work experience.

• Strong competence in the Microsoft Ecosystem and Google Suite.

• Familiarity with VMWare Virtualization technology (ESXi / Vsphere).

• Exposure to AWS (Amazon) based cloud technologies.

• Basic Networking & Troubleshooting Skills.

• Entry Level Linux/Unix knowledge.

You also have the following attributes:

• Highly organized, detailed and multi-task oriented, with the ability to balance priorities.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff. 

• Exceptional customer service skills with an ability to interact in a professional and friendly manner with end users at all levels within the organization.
