Company: growing family-owned mechanical contractor

Position: AP/AR Specialist

Location: Sudbury, ON (Onsite)

Salary: $70K-$75K

Reports to: Controller & Owner

Must Haves:

• Construction accounting experience (required)
• Full-cycle Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable experience
• Accounting diploma/college education highly preferred (degree is a plus)
• Easy-going personality with thick skin; comfortable in a blue-collar construction environment
• Able to thrive in a fast-growing, fast-paced company
• Strong Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)

Nice to Haves:

• Simply Accounting (Sage 50)
• Experience supporting project-based construction accounting
• Strong understanding of debits and credits

Company Overview: Family-owned mechanical contractor founded in 2020 after ownership split from a long-established business. Performs plumbing, HVAC, mechanical contracting, service work, maintenance contracts, time & material projects, and lump-sum commercial projects.

• Customers include major commercial and institutional organizations throughout the Sudbury area.
• Currently at 30 employees and growing rapidly.

Hiring Manager Overview: Controller and co-owner. She currently handles all accounting and project management responsibilities and is looking for someone she can train and develop into a long-term accounting partner. She's friendly, approachable, and values personality just as much as technical ability. She wants someone who is easy-going, has a good sense of humor, isn't easily offended, and can keep up with the pace of a growing construction company.
