The position provides direction to the Post Majority Team and supports youth engaging in the Program. The Young Adult Life Skill Worker works in a team environment and is expected to provide specific support to Young Adults who are housed in our supportive housing program. Specifically, this role provides day to day support, facilitates cultural and community connections, crisis support, occasional food preparation, referrals to community-based programming, in housing programming fostering skill training and development. This program is designed to meet the individual needs of each Young Adult starting from where they are in their personal and cultural journey. This program is for Dakelh Young Adults between the ages of 19 and 26 years. This position is full-time and is required to be part of the on-call crisis response system.Qualifications include:BSW or 2 year diploma or combined training with related experience in youth care field;Willingness and ability to work with Young Adults to be supported in identifying developing, and strengthening their cultural identity and their own life plan;Awareness of Dakelh Culture, community services, resources, and systems; Mentor and model effective techniques and interventions with young adults;Experience in working with Indigenous groups/communities in a cultural context;Certification, First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Food Safe; are required but will consider applicants willing to achieve after hire; andAbility to undergo a successful criminal record search.*In accordance with section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference will be given to qualified applicants of Indigenous ancestry*To apply for this position, please visit our website at to submit a resume and cover letter on or before November 12, 2026.Prince George Native Friendship Centre
