The Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research (IOI) is an exciting initiative creating major new opportunities for science and advances in human health, now aims to recruit a Lead for Communications and Events to head up communications, outreach and engagement activities to drive dissemination, stakeholder engagement and maximise the impact of the Institute. The scope of the role will include designing and delivering the IOI communications strategy through tailored communications, events and by engaging and leveraging the IOI stakeholder network. The successful candidate will be a key member of the IOI team and will directly contribute to the expansion and strengthening of our objectives and outputs, consistent with the long‑term success of the Institute.

We contribute significantly to basic knowledge of antimicrobial resistance and apply research methods to identify new antibiotics and explore new potential antimicrobial agents. The successful applicant will be pivotal in designing and implementing the IOI communications strategy and responsible for planning high‑level events aimed at different stakeholders across academia, public sector, industry and policy. They will have previous experience of a senior science communications role in a complex organisation and an ability to assimilate complex information quickly and make it accessible to a wider audience through a variety of communications channels. The successful candidate will be key in ensuring that the mission and impact of the IOI are disseminated widely and effectively so an understanding of antimicrobial resistance landscape will be highly beneficial. Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to inspire the confidence of senior colleagues and of the most junior team members are also essential.

This is a fixed‑term, full‑time position and is available immediately.
