Accounting Analyst

Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Accounting Analyst plays a key role within RIMAP Hospitality’s centralized accounting team. This position contributes to the accuracy of financial information and the smooth operation of accounting processes while working closely with a committed and dynamic team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Manage reconciliations and account follow-ups:

• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for hotels and apartment properties;

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts;

• Reconcile apartment revenue using the Hopem system;

• Complete the necessary follow-ups with property managers;

• Process intercompany recharges between hotels and apartment properties.

Support month-end and year-end processes:

• Prepare month-end and year-end journal entries;

• Record hotel and apartment revenue;

• Prepare financial statements for several hotels before they are reviewed by the Regional Controller;

• Work with the regional team to maintain the accuracy and reliability of financial information.

Support financial planning and payroll activities:

• Participate in the preparation of budgets with members of the regional team;

• Review and validate payroll information before it is submitted to the payroll processing team;

• Complete various follow-ups related to financial data and accounting operations;

• Enter selected accounts payable transactions as required.

Contribute to the efficiency of the accounting team:

• Collaborate with various departments and managers to respond to accounting-related requests;

• Participate in the improvement of accounting processes and work tools;

• Perform any other related duties required to support the smooth operation of the accounting department.

• A certificate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent relevant experience;

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting position;

• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Power Query and PivotTables;

• A strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end procedures;

• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy;

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;

• Knowledge of Sage 300, an asset;

• Experience in the hospitality industry, an asset;

• The ability to collaborate effectively with a team and various stakeholders.
