URGENT: Nanny Wanted - After School Nanny Needed For Two Children (Ages 5 & 6) - Autism Experience Preferred - Ajax, On - Sept 2026 Start

I am seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced nanny/caregiver to provide after-school care for my two children, ages 5 and 6, beginning in September 2026. One of our children is autistic. I am looking for someone who is patient, nurturing, and experienced in supporting neurodivergent children. Experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioural needs, or educational support needs is highly preferred.

POSITION DETAILS

Location: Ajax, Ontario Start Date: September 2026 Schedule:

• Two afternoons per week
• 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Approximately 9 hours per week
• Specific days to be mutually agreed upon

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pick up both children from school at dismissal
• Drive children safely from school to home (approximately 3-minute drive / 13-minute walk)
• Provide attentive after-school supervision and care
• Maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment
• Prepare after-school snacks and light meals
• Assist with homework and daily routines
• Engage children in age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
• Support the needs of our autistic child, including consistency with routines and positive behaviour support
• Light housekeeping related to the children (tidying play areas, children's dishes, etc.)
• Communicate with parents regarding the children's activities and well-being

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous childcare experience required
• Experience working with children with autism or special needs strongly preferred
• Educational Assistant (EA), Child and Youth Worker (CYW), Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Autism Support Worker, Behaviour Therapist, or similar experience is an asset
• Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Clean driving record
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Excellent references

ABOUT THE POSITION

The children's school is located very close to our home. Transportation responsibilities are limited to school pick-up and driving the children home. No additional driving to activities or appointments is required. I am seeking someone who can build a positive relationship with our children and become a consistent and trusted part of their after-school routine.
