Community Inclusion & Life Skills Support Worker - Young Adult

We are looking for a warm, energetic, patient and creative support worker to work one-on-one with a young adult in North Vancouver. This is an active and community-based position focused on building confidence, independence, life skills and participation in everyday activities. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, is comfortable with children/youth or individuals with special needs, and brings positive energy, creativity and encouragement to each day. Experience as a nanny, childcare worker, recreation worker, education assistant, youth worker or support worker is an asset. What You May Do Together

• Go swimming and participate in fitness and exercise activities
• Visit community centres and participate in recreational programs
• Go to the library, coffee shops, grocery stores and other community activities
• Practice everyday life skills and encourage independence
• Participate in music, arts, games and creative activities
• Explore new community activities and outings
• Encourage communication, social interaction and confidence
• Support learning, developmental and age-appropriate activities
• Help create a positive, fun and active daily routine

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for community outings
• Current First Aid & CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector screening as required
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Reliable and able to commit to scheduled shifts
• Previous experience with children, youth, young adults or individuals with special needs is an asset

This position is funded through a CLBC Individual Funding program and the successful candidate will be employed directly by the family.
