About Valar Atomics

At Valar Atomics, we're redefining what's possible in energy. Our mission is to make clean, high-temperature nuclear power scalable—unlocking abundant energy for industry, hydrogen, and next-generation manufacturing. We are a team of builders, engineers, and operators who believe nuclear energy should be fast to deploy, factory-made, and built for the real world. Our first pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah will demonstrate how advanced nuclear systems and fuel fabrication can power the future. Joining Valar Atomics means becoming part of a company where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level.

The Team

The Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) team supports the installation, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems across Valar Atomics facilities and projects. The team works closely with Engineering, Operations, and other field disciplines to safely build, operate, and maintain reliable plant systems.

  • Oversee calibration programs, test equipment, tooling, materials, documentation, and field readiness.
  • Ensure work complies with applicable safety, quality, engineering, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex instrumentation, controls, and electrical issues.
  • Coach and evaluate supervisors and field personnel, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Coordinate manpower and resources across multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Communicate project status, staffing needs, technical concerns, and execution risks to leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, training, technical capability, and field execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, construction, or commissioning.
  • Proven experience supervising technical craft personnel and frontline supervisors.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, industrial electrical systems, and process equipment.
  • Experience with installation, calibration, testing, commissioning, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, technical specifications, and work packages.
