CNC Machinist

At TSG STAFFING SERVICES, we are always recruiting in anticipation of our clients’ future needs. As such, we are continuing to search for a CNC MACHINIST for potential upcoming projects in the Edmonton area. 

Job Description:

To safely and effectively operate lathes, milling machines, and other tools to produce high quality parts based on CAD drawings, work orders and customer specifications

Safely and efficiently program, set-up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines (manual machines included), horizontal boring mill, surface grinders and manual lathes

Program in standard ISO CNC programming language

Consciously follow all safety recommendations, guidelines and rules at all times

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables

Study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed and plan best sequence of operations

Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specification using precision measuring instruments (gauges, calipers and micrometers)

Conduct routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean work environment including the machines, tools and surrounding area

Exhibit a high regard for safety with the goal of zero incidents in mind at all times

Job Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED

Interprovincial Journeyman, or registered in an apprenticeship program working towards Journeyman certification

7+ years of related machining experience

Able to accurately perform mathematical calculations

Able to program in G-code

Attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high quality work

Excellent communication skills

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Must be physically capable to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Long periods of time standing in one place with some repetitive arm movement
