Summary Job Profile
The Youth Development Coordinator Summer Student is primarily responsible for supporting the supervision of the drop-in program, working with youth in developing personal development plans to assist them on their journey of change, providing supervision support for programming, as well as assist with life skill development and other duties as they arise.

Job Wage : $16.55/hr
Contract Position : Yes, approx. 3.5 months (until end of August) for 35 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Support facilitation and supervision of drop-in services
- Assist with facilitating life skills teaching, workshops, programming support etc
- Support the development and implementation of personal development plans working one-on-one with youth to determine appropriate goals and expectations, referrals to support programs and services, etc., as required
- Supervision of supportive housing facility, as required.
Education and Experience :
- Working towards diploma in Child and Youth Care or degree in Social Work or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth is an asset
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid/ASIST, First Aid & CPR certificates are an asset
Qualifications :
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
- Proficiency in the area of computers and Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of adolescent development
- Administrative abilities
Other :
- Satisfactory criminal reference with vulnerable sector check
- Valid G Ontario driver's licence
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening/weekend work
- Other duties as directed by the Program Manager
