We are seeking a professional, alert, and community-minded Tactical Security Guard to provide safety and security services at a social service centre. The Centre offers temporary shelter and support services to vulnerable individuals.
This is a temporary assignment requiring strong conflict management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work in high-stress environments while maintaining compassion and professionalism.
Position type: Temporary Full-time (ongoing untl further notice)
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday: 00:00 - 08:00

Responsibilities for a Tactical Security Guard in Barrie
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and volunteers
- Monitor entry and exit points; conduct bag checks if required
- Enforce site policies and safety protocols respectfully and consistently
- De-escalate conflicts
- Respond to disturbances, medical emergencies, or safety concerns
- Conduct regular patrols (interior and exterior)
- Document incidents and complete detailed reports
- Liaise with emergency services (Police, Fire, EMS) when necessary
- Support a respectful and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis
Qualifications for a Tactical Security Guard in Barrie
- Valid Security Guard License (required)
- First Aid & CPR certification (required)
- Experience in high-risk, shelter, healthcare, or community environments preferred
- Strong de-escalation and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in volatile situations
- Clear criminal background check
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
