WHO WE ARE

When it comes to health, we’re always looking for ways to push for better. It’s why we were founded in the first place. In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her health by forgoing her own medicine to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

We aren’t just a health and benefits company. We’re the only not-for-profit social enterprise that brings worlds of coverage and care together, all in one place. Want to help people get the support they need when they actually need it? You’re in the right place.

• Engage with members via chat on GS+ and phone who are looking for healthcare tools and information. 
• Guide members to GS Health services offered within GS+ (Therapy, Digital CBT, Work, Life and Health etc.) 
• Confirm coverage for GS Health services 
• Provide the plan member a list of internal and external health programs and/or resources appropriate foridentified needs. 
• Support Nurse Case Managers in care pathways implementation when needed. 

• Healthcare experience and post-secondary education is essential, e.g. HIM (Health Information Mgmt.) experience or previous experience in hospital, public health, or family health team.
• Previous experience as a care navigator or scheduler and comprehensive knowledge of community & health care resources is an asset.
• Bilingual - Fluent (verbal and written) in English and French is an strong asset. 
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and decision-making skills. 
• Critical thinking, ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting, and work collaboratively with different team members and stakeholders.  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail related to quality of service delivery 
• High level of proficiency with various computer programs including; Google Drive, Excel.
