Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Global Legal Counsel with deep expertise in payments, cross border financial infrastructure, and digital assets to support our rapidly expanding global business. This role will lead legal support for global licensing, regulatory, and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions, with a primary focus on payment products, stablecoin settlement, money movement, and cross border payment flows.
Key Responsibilities Provide strategic legal advice on global licensing, regulatory, and compliance requirements relating to payment services, money transmission, stored value facilities, e‑money, stablecoin payments, and digital assets
Lead and support licence applications, renewals, and ongoing regulatory engagements with relevant authorities across multiple jurisdictions
Advise on the legal and regulatory implications of cross border payment products, fiat to stablecoin conversion, settlement infrastructure, treasury operations, and payment flows
Monitor, analyse, and interpret regulatory developments impacting payments, stablecoins, digital assets, and financial services globally
Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation related to payment services, banking partnerships, licensing, and regulatory matters
Partner closely with compliance, risk, treasury, product, operations, and business teams to ensure regulatory alignment across jurisdictions
Support the launch of new payment products, market expansion initiatives, and strategic partnerships by providing practical and commercially focused legal guidance
Manage relationships with external counsel and coordinate responses to regulators on licensing and supervisory matters
Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory driven legal issues, governance frameworks, and policy development
Requirements Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years of post qualification experience gained at leading international law firms and/or in house legal teams
Proven experience advising payment service providers, fintech companies, banks, digital asset platforms, or financial institutions
Solid understanding of global payments regulations, including money transmission, payment institution licensing, e‑money, stored value facilities, remittances, and cross border payments
Prior experience with stablecoins, digital assets, or blockchain based payment infrastructure is highly preferred
Demonstrated experience managing licensing and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions
Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives in a fast growing environment
Ability to work independently in a fast paced, cross border organisation
