Become an essential part of AgeCare's team as a Recreation Worker in Don Mills, Toronto, Ontario. Support seniors through creative and engaging recreation activities that enhance their well-being and sense of community. AgeCare is looking for a dedicated Recreation Worker to plan and implement meaningful leisure activities. You will develop supportive environments, foster resident connections, and ensure effective communication with families and volunteers. This role plays a crucial part in enriching the lives of seniors and enhancing their community experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement diverse recreation activities for residents
- Maintain engaging spaces that facilitate resident participation
- Communicate effectively with families, residents, and volunteers
- Observe and document resident engagement and progress
- Support interdepartmental efforts to enhance resident engagement
- Experience working with seniors in long-term care
- Degree or diploma in recreation or related field
- Skills in planning and facilitating wellness activities
- Knowledge of therapeutic programming techniques
- Commitment to fostering a culture of engagement
