Admission/Registration/Scheduling Clerk (1007)

SCHEDULE: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Rotation, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: French essential and spoken English

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent of this position is responsible for registering inpatients / outpatients / emergency patients; assigning beds as well as continuously monitoring, welcoming and directing patients, clients or the public; providing telephone support in the department and finally printing various reports related to the Admitting Department.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduation or general education diploma (GED) plus an additional administrative support program/course of over six months and up to one year or equivalent;
• Medical terminology training or completion of such training within set timeframe;
• Good knowledge of computer tools and office automation applications and ability to use;
• Calm and flexible nature;
• Good public and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and as a team member;
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
• Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
• Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
