Data Scientist

Hirematic Talent Solutions is hiring on behalf of a confidential client for an experienced Lead Data Scientist to drive the development of next-generation Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions. This role is ideal for a highly technical, hands-on data scientist with expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Agentic AI. You will lead end-to-end data science initiatives—from research and experimentation to production deployment—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex business challenges through innovative AI solutions.

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Onsite – 5 days per week)
Compensation: CAD $55/hour

Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and monitoring of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions.
Transform complex business challenges into scalable AI and data science solutions.
Perform data extraction, exploration, cleansing, feature engineering, modeling, validation, and deployment.
Build predictive models, recommendation systems, NLP solutions, and advanced AI applications.
Develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs), prototypes, and innovation initiatives using emerging AI technologies.
Build and deploy GenAI applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Databases, and Agentic AI frameworks.
Evaluate AI frameworks, tools, and technologies to recommend optimal solutions.
Deploy, monitor, document, and continuously improve production AI models.
Present technical findings and business insights to engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Promote responsible AI practices, data governance, privacy, and model transparency.
Contribute to intellectual property through patents, publications, conferences, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical leadership across AI initiatives.

Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
Ph.D. is highly preferred.
Minimum 7 years of professional Data Science experience developing and deploying Machine Learning solutions end-to-end (5+ years may be considered with a relevant Ph.D.).
Extensive experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and modern AI frameworks.
Strong understanding of mathematical foundations, statistics, optimization, and AI algorithms.
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of responsible AI, data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
