Solution Consultant (Vancouver)

Overview

Great opportunity to join FNZ's Solution Consulting team. The Solution Consulting team is responsible for providing a range of high value services to FNZ's existing and potential customers. This includes being responsible for the platform configuration and running the FNZ Model Wealth Solution configuration process for new platform implementations, plus supporting sales team in winning and sizing new projects. It also involves carrying out a variety of consulting assignments for existing customers and new customers in a variety of contexts, including proposition definition, TOM definition, business transformation, customer training and knowledge transfer, and the definition of bespoke requirements where required for customer platform solutions.

Once business outcomes are understood from FNZ clients, these must be accurately documented and fed into the delivery process to ensure they are easily understood and precise to deliver the right outcome for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing up to date knowledge, awareness of current trends and future direction of the local asset management industry.
  • Presenting and explaining existing FNZ capability.
  • Defining and challenging scope of a project.
  • Capturing and documenting customer business outcomes to create requirements, solution designs and agreeing of Joint Target Operating Models.
  • Designing platform integration solutions.
  • Providing business transformation support and consultancy services.
  • Offering regulations and advice on platform compliance.
  • Developing customer training programs and knowledge transfer services.
  • Configuring and delivering FNZ's Model Wealth Solution (MWS) process.
  • Handling analyst and developer handovers and support.
  • Conducting functional reviews and TDD walkthroughs.
  • Defining business readiness processes and agreeing SLAs.
  • Verifying defects.
  • Leading and supporting aligned FNZ client projects, building team capability and mentoring junior members.
  • Instilling a spirit of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Working with FNZ customers and internal stakeholders to define propositions and product requirements.
  • Providing market expertise as required.
  • Acting as an SME for FNZ platform functionality, helping customers define propositions that best utilize the platform.
  • Understanding the Platform Target Operating Model, including interfaces between platform and customer operations.
  • Advising customers on best practice operating model design.
  • Running the MWS configuration process for new platform implementations and capturing configuration points in service configuration documents.
  • Documenting bespoke customer requirements and ensuring they are met.
  • Reviewing and ensuring the quality of solution documentation.
  • Providing training programmes and knowledge transfer services for FNZ customers.
  • Offering consultancy services to other FNZ clients and projects.
  • Providing advice and guidance regarding regulatory compliance.
  • Serving as an SME in the platform market and supporting other areas of the FNZ business.

Qualifications

  • 1st class degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within a business analysis or consulting role.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish an environment of continuous improvement and capability development.
  • Confidence and initiative within a client and delivery focused environment.
  • Independent, self‑directing and delivery focused working style.
  • Superior analytical thinking.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Excellent organisational, administration and time‑management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Experience in a consulting, analysis or architecture environment.
  • Knowledge of general investment, wealth, life and/or pensions products and the markets in which FNZ and its customers operate.
  • FNZ Platform expertise, being an SME in at least four functional areas of the platform.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment in the jurisdiction being hired for and knowledge of upcoming changes.
  • At least seven years of experience in a delivery or consulting workplace in the financial services or wealth market.
