Randstad is seeking skilled Sit-Down Counterbalance Drivers to join a fast-paced freight transfer terminal in Calgary.

Shift & Compensation:

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Fixed Friday & Saturday off)

Pay Rate: $22.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate sit-down counterbalance forklifts to transport and stage freight across the terminal floor.

Efficiently unload and load transport trailers while adhering to strict time schedules.

Hand-stack, sort, and secure cargo (lifting up to 50 lbs) to maintain balanced, damage-free shipments.

Accurately scan and track inventory at all stages using RF handheld scanners.

Requirements:

Valid external Sit-Down Counterbalance certification.

Proven experience in high-volume freight, cross-dock, or logistics environments.

Physical capability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.

Reliable personal vehicle for daily commuting (location is not transit-accessible).

Responsibilities
Operate a Sit-Down Counterbalance forklift to safely and efficiently move pallets across a high-traffic cross-dock floor.
Load, unload, and strategically stage LTL and FTL freight to meet tight daily dispatch deadlines.
Step off the machine to hand-bomb, stack, and build solid, road-ready pallets with items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Manage fast-paced workflows and maintain dock organization to keep up with strict transit schedules.
Utilize handheld RF scanners to track inventory movements and ensure 100% data accuracy on all shipments.

Qualifications
Valid Sit-Down Counterbalance Forklift certification with at least 1 year of experience in a high-volume freight or cross-dock environment.
Must have your own reliable vehicle, as this facility is completely inaccessible via public transit.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and perform physical tasks, including stepping off the forklift to build pallets.
Proven, hands-on understanding of LTL (Less Than Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload) workflows.
Ready to start working immediately with a strong, self-motivated work ethic and excellent punctuality.
