Power Hardware Engineer at Ciena
Ciena Corporation
Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, is seeking a Power Hardware Engineer to enhance their hardware development team in Kanata, ON. This role focuses on developing power solutions for Optical and Ethernet platforms. As a Power Hardware Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and validating innovative power and ground systems. Collaborating with hardware design teams and external suppliers, you will contribute to circuit pack level solutions while holding reviews on design and performance. This position demands strong communication skills across various disciplines and a minimum of five years of relevant product development experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop power and ground systems for next-gen platforms
- Design high-performance circuit pack power solutions
- Collaborate with mechanical design and suppliers
- Conduct design and verification reviews thoroughly
- Verify designs using engineering and production prototypes
- Bachelor of Engineering degree
- 5+ years in electrical power systems development
- Familiarity with power lab test equipment
- Communication skills across multiple disciplines
- Knowledge of telecom and data center standards
