AccessSMT is a leading supplier, installer and project manager of solutions driven offerings in Construction Divisions 8, 28 and 10 which include Architectural Hardware, Access Control and Building Security Systems, Hollow Metal Doors and Frames, Wood Doors and Frames, Specialty Doors, Construction Specialties, Lockers, Partitions, Washroom Accessories and Visual and Display Boards. AccessSMT is seeking a production worker for our Nanaimo metal shop. This position is permanent full time, Monday to Friday day shift.
Responsibilities:
- Work in the production area with various hand tools and welding equipment
- Safely operate power tools including, MIG welders, saws, presses, and punching equipment for metal fabrication
- Welding metal door frames
- Prepare product for assembly and shipping
- Ensure the work area is clean and safe
- General production duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Welding (Thin metal (16-20ga) MIG welding experience)
- Ability to read shop drawings
- Ability to read prepping diagrams
- Ability to perform grinding, buffing and related functions
- Safety oriented
- welding experience, ticketed welder preferred but not required
- Forklift operating experience an asset but not needed
Working Conditions:
· Warehouse and production setting
· Some lifting/carrying products from the Warehouse
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
