Expected Start Date: June 22, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Royal University Hospital City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Infection Prevention and Control Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: June 22, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 28 shifts of 8 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Infection Control Practitioner $44.356 to $53.2 Travel Required: Yes Job : Accountable to the Manager, the Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for providing infection prevention and control related services within the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) integrated service areas by supporting implementation and maintenance of an effective Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) program, providing training and education related to IPAC and infectious diseases, and by consulting on matters related to IPAC as an expert resource. The incumbent will participate in quality improvement or research activities as needed within the SHA. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education- Degree in Nursing or relevant Health Sciences Degree acceptable to the Employer
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of & able to utilize, principles of program development & teaching
- Knowledge of microbiology & infectious disease
- Knowledge to identify, investigate & control outbreaks of infectious diseases
- Demonstrates effective leadership and management skills
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Possesses knowledge of and has job related experience in health care
