Position Summary

As a Proposal Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our company’s growth by crafting compelling and winning proposals for construction projects. This role partners with the Pre-Construction and Business Development team. Your expertise in the industry and exceptional writing skills will help us secure valuable contracts. You will be responsible for writing, editing, and formatting content for clarity and compliance, conducting thorough research for supporting data, and managing timelines to meet proposal submission deadlines.

*This is a 12-month maternity leave coverage position with the possibility to transition to full-time permanent.

As a Proposal Specialist your key accountabilities will involve:

• Designing, creating, composing, and customizing persuasive and comprehensive proposals, ensuring full compliance with RFQ/RFP requirements.


• Composing and editing proposal content, blending technical information and showcasing our expertise effectively.


• Rewriting and customizing previous proposals and qualifications in response to new pursuits.


• Collaborating with internal team members to gather information and understand project requirements.


• Developing persuasive proposal strategies.


• Writing, editing, and formatting proposal content to ensure clarity, coherence, and compliance with client submission guidelines and deadlines.


• Conducting thorough research to gather supporting data and technical information.


• Reviewing and analyzing RFQs and RFPs to understand project objectives and evaluation criteria.


• Managing proposal timelines and coordinating with internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.


• Incorporating feedback from subject matter experts and senior management to enhance proposal quality.

As a Proposal Specialist your experience and qualifications will include:

• Proven 3-5 years of experience as a Proposal Specialist in the construction industry. Knowledge of design-build and construction management delivery methods is an asset.


• A strong knowledge of the RFP/RFQ process.


• Degree in English, marketing, communications, journalism, creative writing, or equivalent work experience.


• Strong understanding of construction terminology, methods, and industry practices.


• Knowledge of design-build and construction management delivery methods a plus.


• Exceptional writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.


• The creative ability to develop visually unique graphics for proposal covers, tables, and illustrations.


• The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Strong knowledge and competency with desktop proposal management software.
