Duties
We are recruiting for a COAST/MCRT Supervisor to support our Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team (MCRT) & Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COAST). This includes supporting individuals in crisis through first and secondary response including mental health and addictions intervention. This includes mobile calls and assertive outreach in partnership with police and transporting individuals needing psychiatric care to hospital.
- Provide administrative and clinical supervision, coaching, scheduling support, and day-to day guidance to direct service staff.
- Support staff performance, development, accountability and engagement through effective supervision and communication practices.
- Coordinate mobile crisis response activities, including first and secondary response in partnership with police and community partners.
- Assess and respond to risk, client behaviour, complaints, incidents, and urgent service needs using sound judgement and established protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation, client files, reporting requirements, and data integrity
- Promote collaboration across programs, departments, referral sources to support coordinated service delivery.
- Support and monitor referral, intake, triage, assessment, safety planning, short-term crisis intervention processes.
- Contribute to a safe, clean and respectful work environment by supporting health and safety practices and identifying risks and concerns.
- Facilitate and/or participate in department and sector case management meetings
Qualifications
- College or University degree in Social Services
- Provide proof of current registration in good standing with a governing body such as CRPO or OCSWSSW
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals, groups and/or families affected by addictions and mental health and specific experience in a leadership role
- Must have experience assessing for safety risks and safety planning, and a demonstrated ability to apply relevant theoretical models when providing assessments to identify strengths, needs and level of risk, and case management
- Knowledge of evidence-informed best practices in the delivery of services to individuals in crisis
- Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
- Have access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required
- Be able to manage occasional severe exposure to direct and vicarious trauma
- Mediation, conflict resolution and leadership training preferred.
