Remote Senior Power BI /Power Automate Developer

Location: Hybrid in Halifax (3 days/week onsite) or remote if necessary
Contract Duration: 6 months
About the Role
We are looking for two experienced consultants specializing in Power BI and Power Automate to support the migration of our current reporting system. The selected individuals will play a key role in redesigning our reporting environment and will also mentor and upskill our internal team members.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Must-have Technical Skills:
Power BI (data modeling, DAX, advanced visualizations, dataset management)
Power Automate (building complex flows)
Microsoft Power Platform (general knowledge)
SQL (intermediate to advanced)
Microsoft Excel (advanced, including Power Query)
Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 environment
Tech Stack:
Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
Power Automate (Cloud and Desktop Flows)
Azure SQL / Azure Data Factory (nice to have)
GitHub or Azure DevOps (version control and deployment)
JSON (used in Power Automate integrations)
REST APIs (integration with other systems)
Understanding of data governance principles
Responsibilities
Support the migration of our existing reporting system to Power BI.
Automate manual processes using Power Automate.
Design and deliver high-performance, user-friendly dashboards.
Implement best practices for data modeling, security, and governance.
Provide technical mentorship to internal team members.
Create documentation and deliver internal training sessions.

Knowledge transfer and capability building for internal staff
Clean documentation and support materials

Experience with reporting system migrations
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environment
Experience in change management or user training
Microsoft Power Platform certifications
