Cafe Barista / Server - Daytime

This position combines the responsibilities & duties of Barista, Counter Service & Serving. It requires multi-tasking, efficiency and intuition of co-workers needs as well as customers. During slower times, an individual easy can accommodate all roles. During busier times of the day (i.e. lunch or afternoon coffee time) there are 2-3 individuals that would be working together with the duties shared but clearly defined.

Barista responsibilities include making espresso based coffees, educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates.

Counter / Customer Service responsibilities include greeting customers as they enter, provide ordering and seating instructions, educating customers on food & drink menus, answering general enquires from visitors to Dawson about BonTon & Co., Dawson City & events, as well as servicing the retail case. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent customer service skills and knowledge of BonTon & Co. specific foods & ethos.

Server responsibilities include communicating with kitchen on orders, serving food & beverages to tables once customers are seated, setting /busing tables in a timely and friendly fashion. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organizational & customer service skills as well as knowledge of food safe practices
