Drive your career forward as a Traffic Officer with the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol. Your role will center on enforcing transportation laws and maintaining safety on the highways. The Ministry of Community Safety is seeking qualified individuals for permanent Traffic Officer roles across Saskatchewan. This position requires individuals who can make sound judgments under pressure, effectively communicate, and engage respectfully with the public. Training includes 22 weeks at the Saskatchewan Police College, focused on vehicle enforcement and operational readiness. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect commercial vehicles and issue citations
  • Address 911 emergencies and investigative needs
  • Support local police in traffic incidents
  • Document incidents with accurate reporting
  • Educate the transport industry on safety practices
Requirements:
  • Completion of the POPAT test and a valid driver’s license
  • First Aid certification with AED training
  • Psychological fitness for law enforcement roles
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations
  • Physical capability to conduct inspections and manage emergencies
