Position Title: Roofer (NOC 73110)
Available Positions: Three (3)
Start Dated: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment:
- Permanent Position – Full time
- Weekends, Mornings, daytime and some overtime
- Wages – Starting at $32.00 – $34.00/hour for 30 – 40 hours per week
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Repair, maintain, and remove roofs and the installation of new ones
- Measure roof to calculate the quantities of required materials
- Install vapor barriers and layers of insulation
- Inspected composition shingles, slate shingles and metal roofs for leaks
- Apply cold process roof coatings
- Erect rigging as required
- Determine materials requirements for roof repairs
- Inspect problem roofs to find out the best way to repair them
- Find and replace damaged joists and plywood
- Install shingles, asphalt, metal, or other materials to make the roof watertight
- Working at heights on flat and slopped roofs
- Required the use of manual and or power tools
Skill / Experience Requirements:
Secondary (High) School is an asset
One (1) to Two (2) year of experience as a roofer
Work Site Environment – Fast pace and high pressure at heights; working outside; in a commercial and/or residential setting
