The Opportunity

EY's Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice helps financial institutions manage fraud risk, strengthen controls, improve customer protection, and comply with evolving regulatory expectations. As a Senior Manager within the Fraud practice, you will lead complex client engagements, oversee large-scale fraud transformation initiatives, and support business growth across the Canadian market. Supported by related Fraud and FinCrimes job postings within FSRM.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead fraud risk management, fraud transformation, and fraud technology engagements for banking and financial services clients.
• Serve as the primary client contact for executive stakeholders and provide trusted advisory services.
• Oversee fraud strategy, operating model design, fraud controls, investigations, analytics, and fraud technology implementations.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and external vendors.
• Manage engagement economics, project delivery, quality assurance, and risk management.
• Drive business development activities including proposals, pursuits, relationship management, and thought leadership.
• Coach, mentor, and develop managers, senior consultants, and consultants.
• Contribute to the growth of the FSRM Fraud practice and development of new service offerings.

Client Advisory & Stakeholder Management 

• Act as a trusted delivery lead to client executives and program leaders by translating business priorities into executable technology outcomes and making execution risks visible early. 
• Lead decision-oriented working sessions that force clarity on scope, ownership, dependencies, trade-offs, readiness gaps and next actions. 
• Build credibility with business, technology, operations, vendor and executive stakeholders by being direct, fact-based, delivery-oriented and consistently reliable under pressure. 
• Communicate progress, blockers, risks, recommendations and recovery actions with clarity, using evidence-based status reporting and practical next steps. 
• Constructively challenge unrealistic timelines, unclear scope, weak ownership, untested assumptions and vendor commitments that create go-live risk. 
• Maintain the confidence of senior stakeholders while still being hands-on enough to know whether the work is truly moving. 

Business Development & Practice Support 

• Support proposals, RFP responses and solution design with credible delivery assumptions, staffing models, risks, dependencies, implementation paths and go-live considerations. 
• Contribute to Fraud Technology offerings by codifying practical delivery playbooks, reusable plans, readiness checklists, risk patterns, cutover approaches, testing approaches and lessons learned from real banking implementations. 
• Bring practical insight on what works in fraud technology delivery, including vendor-led implementation, agile-at-scale, systems integration, data migration, testing automation, production readiness and operational stabilization. 

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead onshore, nearshore, offshore, client and vendor team members with clear expectations, outcome ownership and timely intervention when delivery is at risk. 
• Create a high-accountability delivery culture where teams surface issues early, solve problems directly and focus on measurable progress. 
• Raise the bar for fraud consulting delivery capability by coaching teams on execution discipline, release readiness, client communication, defect management, dependency management and delivery leadership under pressure. 
• Be comfortable stepping into unstructured situations, creating clarity quickly and becoming a trusted delivery lead for senior stakeholders. 

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Deep understanding of fraud risk management within financial services.
• Experience across fraud domains such as payments, cards, digital banking, lending, deposits, account takeover, identity fraud, and financial crime.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Proven program delivery and project leadership experience.
• Ability to translate complex risks into practical business solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and people leadership capabilities.

What we look for

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in fraud risk, financial crime, consulting, banking, or risk management.
• Demonstrated experience leading large client engagements and teams.
• Experience with fraud technologies, fraud analytics, investigations, or financial crime transformation initiatives.
• Professional certifications (CFE, CAMS, CFA, CPA, FRM, or similar) are considered assets.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have 

• Experience with Agile delivery, DevOps, release management and modern delivery models in environments where agile ceremonies are tied to actual delivery outcomes.
• Experience in large-scale fraud transformation programs with multiple vendors, system integrators, internal technology teams, business owners, risk/compliance stakeholders and production readiness gates.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets. 

• Toronto: $148,000 to $222,500
