Embrace a critical role as an Anesthesia Assistant with The Ottawa Hospital. This position requires hands-on experience with anesthesia technologies and effective communication in a collaborative medical team. The Ottawa Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Assistant to bring expertise to its multi-service operating room. Candidates must hold a diploma in Respiratory Therapy, complete a postgraduate Anesthesia Assistant course, and be certified in ACLS. Experience in a surgical setting and knowledge of hospital processes are essential to deliver top-quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Support anesthesia during surgeries and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of anesthesia equipment and technologies
- Apply sound judgement and problem-solving skills
- Ensure adherence to hospital and OR policies
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Diploma from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
- Graduation from an Anesthesia Assistant course
- Current C.R.T.O. certification or eligibility
- Two years of operating room experience preferred
- Proficiency in English and French is advantageous
