Data Architect - REMOTE - Saint Albert

Are you an experienced Digital Architect seeking to drive meaningful service transformation? Our Edmonton client is looking for a Digital Architect for an initial 3-month contract with potential extension up to 24 months. In this role, you will work alongside cross-functional delivery teams to guide technical strategy, optimize service delivery, and modernize systems that serve citizens directly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the solution architecture strategy for digital services using agile software practices.
• Uncover system context and evaluate technical feasibility for ongoing project initiatives.
• Define target state system boundaries, integration points, and overall architecture plans.
• Guide cross-functional teams through iterative software implementation and technical decision-making.
• Review technical code changes and contribute directly to code implementation when needed.
• Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and guidance to delivery teams and technical leads.
• Prepare clear architectural diagrams, documents, and presentations for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience leading cross-functional agile product teams and providing architectural direction.
• Five years of experience as a software architect delivering enterprise-scale solutions with modern technology stacks.
• Two years of experience collaborating with user experience, service design, or human-centered design teams.
• Four years of experience defining solution architecture for large-scale systems, integrations, and cloud-native patterns.
• Five years of strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
