Data Architect - Fabric (Greater Sudbury)

Role Summary – Data Fabric Consultant / Subject Matter Expert (SME)

BrickRed Systems is seeking a highly experienced Data Fabric Consultant / SME to lead enterprise data modernization initiatives. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to clients, defining and implementing data fabric architectures that unify distributed data environments and enable real‑time, intelligent decision‑making. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and executive leadership to drive end‑to‑end data strategy, architecture, and execution. Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted advisor to clients on data fabric strategy, architecture, and implementation. Design and lead enterprise‑scale data fabric solutions across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. Define data integration, governance, and metadata management frameworks. Enable data virtualization and seamless data access across disparate systems. Drive adoption of real‑time data processing and event‑driven architectures. Collaborate with business leaders to align data strategy with business outcomes. Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder presentations. Mentor internal teams and guide best practices in modern data engineering and architecture. Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms across Azure, AWS, and GCP ecosystems. Required Technical Skills

10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or consulting roles. Deep expertise in data fabric concepts, data mesh (nice‑to‑have), and modern data platforms. Robust experience with Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Purview), AWS (Glue, Lake Formation), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow). Proficiency in data integration, ETL/ELT, and orchestration tools. Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink). Knowledge of data governance, lineage, cataloging, and compliance frameworks. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. Familiarity with API‑led integration, microservices, and distributed systems. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
