Role Purpose

The Community Development Officer supports the planning and delivery of initiatives that address community needs, promote participation, and improve community well-being. The role involves working collaboratively with residents, local organizations, and key partners to achieve shared development priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with residents to identify community needs, priorities, and opportunities for development.

Coordinate and support the delivery of community projects, programmes, and events.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with local organizations, service providers, and community leaders.

Promote inclusive participation, ensuring underrepresented groups have opportunities to contribute.

Facilitate access to relevant services, information, and support.

Assist with funding applications, budget monitoring, and the coordination of project resources.

Monitor project activities, gather feedback, and prepare progress reports.

Comply with organizational policies relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, and equal opportunity.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience working with communities, volunteers, or local organizations.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Effective organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of partners.
