Elevate your career as a Corporate Counsel with KPMG's Office of General Counsel in Canada, contributing to crucial legal matters in a hybrid work model. This role combines contracting expertise with collaborative partnership across diverse business teams.
As a Corporate Counsel, you will report to the Assistant General Counsel and engage with various internal stakeholders to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts. This position is ideal for a lawyer with 3-5 years of corporate/commercial experience, who can offer innovative legal solutions while balancing risks against business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts for KPMG
• Advise on contractual terms and legal risks
• Provide business-oriented legal solutions swiftly
• Collaborate on risk management and compliance issues
• Translate complex legal terms into actionable advice
Requirements:
• J.D. or LL.B. and licensed in Canada
• 3-5 years of corporate/commercial experience
• IT contracting or M&A experience preferred
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Fluent in English for effective communication
