Position Details 

Position: | Casual Security Guard 

Site: | Algonquin College - Pembroke Campus: 1 College Way. Pembroke, ON K8A 8S6

Averaging Agreement: | Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) calculated after 88 hours

Hours: 0700-1500 / 1500-2200 

Payrate: $20.00/hour   

Posting Date: July 29, 2026 

I nternal Closing Date: August 4, 2026 

External Closing Date: August 14, 2026    

Job Requirements 

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License  
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C  
• Authorized to legally work in Canada 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills   
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy   
• Previous security experience is an asset  
• Previous customer service experience is an asset 
• Post Secondary education in a Law Enforcement/Security program from a recognized college preferred 

Job Responsibilities 

In this role, you will be responsible for:  

• Patrol assigned area on foot  
• Ensure students, staff and visitors adhere to Algonquin College policy, directives, and regulations  
• Greet employees and visitors at designated entrances  
• Control room with CCTV & Access Card System  
• Parking Enforcement  
• Additional job duties as assigned 

Certification Requirements (All)

Judicial Matters Criminal Records Check
A Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
First Aid, CPR Level C
