POSITION OVERVIEW

Kratos Antenna Solutions is looking for an experienced Welder to support our Whitby manufacturing team. This position will be required to operate welding equipment to perform TIG aluminum welding and fitting operations on related antenna assemblies. Must have all CWB welding qualifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review blueprints and specifications; ensure drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use.
• Proficient in TIG welding techniques on various metal components and structures
• Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and Health & Safety procedures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds
• Inspect finished welds for quality and accuracy
• Fabricate and assemble metal parts according to specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Must be able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
• Forklift certification and ability to safety operate overhead cranes
• Other assigned work as required

Experience and Skills:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires High School Diploma
• Post-Secondary / must possess CWB Certificate
• At least 3 - 5 years' experience with aluminum welding
• Must be proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Required to work at heights
• Ability to operate a forklift and bridge crane.
• Office and/or manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive motion
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Employee may generate, handle, manage, or work around hazardous materials and hazardous wastes

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• 0-5% - May be required between locations
