Position Summary:

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Benefits & Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. This role reports to the Payroll Manager and is responsible for supporting benefits administration and payroll processes across North America , EMEA, and APAC.

What you’ll be doing:

Benefits Administration (Primary Focus):

  • Manage daily administration of benefit programs in North America, EMEA and APAC including health, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, Cobra, retirement plans (401(k), RRSP), and wellness initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and escalate complex cases when needed.
  • Ownership of 401(k) and RRSP plans, including enrollment, payroll deductions, and employee communications.
  • Manage 401(k) audit activities, including preparing relevant payroll and deduction reports.
  • Responsible for ACA reporting and PCORI fee submissions for U.S. compliance.
  • Handle Canadian benefit reporting requirements, including WCB filings and BC Employer Health Tax
  • Ensure the accuracy of benefits data in HRIS and payroll systems
  • Reconcile benefits invoices and payroll deductions.
  • Coordinate with brokers and vendors on benefit renewals and updates
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding employee benefits
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager

Payroll Support:

  • Assist with preparing and validating data for payroll processing (new hires, terminations, job/comp changes, and deductions).
  • Respond to employee questions related to pay, taxes, time off, and deductions.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing journal entries and coordinate with the Finance team to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Maintain payroll records and support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Help monitor compliance with North American payroll laws, including federal, state, and provincial regulations.
  • Support year-end processing, including generation and review of tax slips, benefits reporting, and audit preparation

You have:

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR administration,
  • Working knowledge of North American payroll practices and benefit regulations (e.g., ACA, 401(k), RRSP, WCB, Pensions)
  • Post-secondary education in Payroll, Human Resources, or Accounting
  • Experience with benefits and payroll in the US and Canada
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice to have:

  • Experience using systems such as BambooHR, Justworks, and Payworks.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification

Please view the base salary range for this role below. The range listed is our expected compensation for the role. However, the pay offered may vary depending on a variety of factors including qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Annual Salary

$50,000—$70,000 CAD
