Senior Manager, Business Continuity Management

What is the Opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Business Continuity Management (BCM) will act as a first line of defense advisor for RBC's Technology & Operations (T&O) team. This role drives operational resilience and regulatory compliance (OSFI E-21) by overseeing incident management, recovery strategies, and business continuity plans.

What will you do?

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide leadership and oversight to Senior Directors and Executives regarding the BCRM (Business Continuity Risk Management) program.
  • Risk Management: Mitigate operational risks, oversee continuous improvement plans, and ensure compliance with OSFI E-21 and industry standards.
  • Tactical Planning: Manage Business Impact Analyses (BIA), Threat Risk Assessments (TRA), and Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
  • Testing & Readiness: Design and execute simulations, call tree tests, and Work Area Recovery exercises.
  • Incident Management: Partner with cross-functional teams to build a resilient, multi-disciplinary Incident Management framework.
  • Reporting & Governance: Develop compliance reports, monitor BCRM metrics, and maintain governance documents/training materials.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in Business Continuity, Crisis, Disaster Recovery, or Risk Management.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, relationship‑building, and communication skills.
  • High adaptability to manage competing deadlines and results‑oriented goals.
  • Experience in large‑scale global matrix environments or financial institutions.
  • Strong background in data analysis and risk‑management mindsets.

Nice to have

  • Completion of Associate Business Continuity Professional certification (ABCP) or CBCP.
