Senior Engineer - AI Workflows
Vibehackers
Explicitly calls out “vibe-coding”—rapid experimentation and prototyping of AI agents and workflows.
About the Role
As a Senior Engineer on Xero's Internal AI Accelerator Squad, you will embed with business teams to design, build, and operationalise agentic AI workflows that automate complex workflows end-to-end. You will lead delivery of AI agents from discovery to production, define patterns and guardrails, and evangelise safe, scalable intelligent automation across the business.
Role
Senior Engineer within the Internal AI Accelerator Squad focused on designing, delivering, and operationalising agentic AI workflows that remove manual toil and transform end-to-end business processes.
Team & Context
Join a high-velocity, cross-functional squad driving adoption of agentic AI and intelligent automation across the organisation. The team emphasises rapid experimentation and “vibe-coding,” working closely with product owners and subject matter experts to convert complex workflows into automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of AI agents from discovery through production, acting as a technical partner and evangelist.
- Co‑design and iterate AI agents and workflow orchestrations using Claude, Gemini, and MCP.
- Integrate AI systems with core enterprise platforms (Salesforce, Workday, Slack, NetSuite).
- Develop reusable automation patterns, shared templates, and tooling for the business.
- Build evaluation and monitoring frameworks to measure performance and ensure safety, auditability, and controlled blast radius.
- Define patterns, guardrails, and operational standards for intelligent automation.
- Partner with non‑technical stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and operating production applications or automations, particularly with APIs and cloud infrastructure.
- Hands‑on delivery of AI‑driven solutions (agents, copilots, or RAG systems) using LLMs such as Claude or Gemini.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and experience with SDKs and webhooks.
- Systems‑thinking approach with emphasis on security, auditability, and limiting blast radius.
- Strong stakeholder collaboration skills and experience coaching or uplifting AI fluency in others.
Working Arrangements
