Machinist - Lathe

What you will do

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Manufacturing Team as we are actively recruiting for a Machinist producing quality detailed component parts using a manual lathe . This position reports to the Machining Department Group Leader.

What we’re looking for

• Read and interpret blueprints to determine production process to machine a quality part.
• Set up, reference planes, surface location, dimensions and tolerances.
• Verify settings by measuring positions, assessing first off verification and sample work pieces.
• Maintain specifications by observation, troubleshooting, and adjusting.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Achieve production requirements by aligning work orders to priorities in manufacturing.
• Adhere to safety and quality standard practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organized work environment.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.

What you need to succeed

• Secondary School Diploma required.
• Machinist, Mold Maker, or Tool and Die certified Journeyperson, an asset
• In depth knowledge of manual lathe.
• Blueprint reading and comprehension required.
• Sound judgement and attention to detail.

Wage range: $28.00 - $32.00 / hour
