We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Estimator to lead our preconstruction estimating department. In this vital leadership position, you will oversee all estimating activities to guarantee the production of accurate, competitive, and timely project bids. You will guide a dedicated team of estimating professionals, ensuring that every proposal strictly adheres to project scopes, financial parameters, and client expectations. Beyond day-to-day bidding, you will be the driving force behind the department's continuous evolution, tasked with refining preconstruction workflows, updating templates, and improving overall cost-advancement processes.

Responsibilities
Direct and delegate daily workflows to the estimating group, keeping personnel accountable while providing the support needed to hit strict deadlines.

Personally manage and execute comprehensive estimates for critical and high-value projects.

Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and tender documents to produce precise takeoffs and competitive pricing.

Drive the entire tendering cycle by issuing RFPs, leveling subcontractor quotes, and communicating final award decisions.

Partner seamlessly with project managers and field operations to facilitate smooth project handovers from the preconstruction phase into active construction.

Conduct thorough risk evaluations alongside the operations team to proactively identify and mitigate potential schedule delays or cost overruns. Audit and revise cost projections continuously to account for design modifications, labor shifts, or changes in material availability.

Advise internal teams on value engineering and proactively identify opportunities to maximize cost-efficiency.

Submit regular resource allocation updates to departmental leadership and escalate critical issues when necessary.

Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of proven professional estimating experience within the construction industry.

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or a closely related academic discipline.

Mandatory hands-on project experience within the commercial and light industrial construction sectors.

Prior background in a supervisory or team leadership capacity is highly preferred.

Comprehensive understanding of modern building codes, structural systems, and construction materials.

Exceptional financial acumen covering construction budgeting, cost control, and quantitative reporting.

Working knowledge of preconstruction software workflows, specifically Building Connected.

Demonstrated ability to foresee constructability challenges in complex scenarios and engineer out-of-the-box solutions.

Outstanding communication, organization, and time-management skills, tailored for a fast-paced and adaptable work environment.
