Senior Director Finance

Our client is a successful, privately held Canadian company with a well-established business and an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented culture. They are looking for a Senior Director of Finance to join their leadership team and take on a broad, highly visible mandate.This is not a traditional accounting-focused finance role. While ensuring strong financial discipline remains important, the real opportunity is to become a strategic and commercial partner to the business - helping leadership better understand performance, identify opportunities and make stronger, data-driven decisions.The Opportunity
Reporting to the President, the Senior Director of Finance will lead the finance function while spending significant time working across the organization.The mandate will include:Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysisProviding meaningful insight into revenue, margins, pricing, costs and profitabilityDeveloping and enhancing KPIs and management reportingPartnering with operational and commercial leaders to support better decision-makingEvaluating business cases, capital investments and growth opportunitiesIdentifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and overall efficiencyLeveraging technology, automation and AI to improve the way financial information is produced and usedEnsuring accurate and timely financial reporting and maintaining appropriate financial controlsLeading, developing and mentoring the finance teamActing as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadershipThe Ideal Candidate
You are a
CPA
with progressive finance leadership experience and a strong understanding of a manufacturing or similarly operational business.You bring strong technical fundamentals, but your real strength is your ability to connect the numbers to the business. You are curious, analytical and commercially minded, and you naturally dig beneath financial results to understand what is driving them.You are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting into the details as you are sitting with senior leaders and helping shape a decision.Experience working within a privately held, entrepreneurial or mid-sized organization would be particularly valuable.Why Consider This Opportunity?
