Mobile App Developer Co-op Student - Fall 2026

• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• Must be registered at a Canadian post-secondary institution and eligible for co-op placement

We are a lean, fast-paced start-up seeking a Mobile App Developer Co-op Student to help build and maintain a production-grade mobile and web application using modern technologies like Flutter, React, and Laravel. You’ll collaborate with an experienced team including developers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality features and improvements to an active product.

This is a unique opportunity to work on real applications in production, contribute to user-facing features, and gain deep experience across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter (Dart) for iOS and Android
• Build responsive, user-friendly web applications using React (JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Implement backend APIs and business logic using Laravel (PHP)
• Work closely with designers and product managers to deliver intuitive and polished features
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Test, debug, and deploy application updates using Firebase
• Participate in Agile processes: sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups
• Maintain technical documentation and track tasks using collaboration tools

Tools You’ll Use

• Languages & Frameworks: MySQL (Must have), Flutter (Dart), Laravel (PHP) (Must have), React (JavaScript/TypeScript), Swift (Xcode) (Must have)
• Collaboration & Dev Tools: Git / GitHub, Jira, Notion, Slack

Qualifications

Required:

• Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program and returning to full-time studies in Winter 2026
• Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (3rd or 4th year preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of mobile app development:
  • Proficiency in major app development languages including
    • Flutter
    • Swift
    • Xcode
    • Laravel / PHP
    • Java / React / JSON
  • Experience with source code management tools (e.g. Git)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and relational databases (e.g., MySQL)
  • Experience with profiling and debugging mobile applications
  • Familiarity with working in an agile environment
  • Familiarity with push notifications
  • Understanding of mobile app design guidelines and aware of differences between platforms
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team
